Cumberland County Schools Governed Choice Program

We have so many choices in our lives, we choose where we shop, where we live, and where we work. However, until the 1998-99 school year, there were hardly any choices available regarding the education of our children while attending public schools. The implementation of the Governed Choice program in Cumberland County Schools is a direct result of our responsiveness to our customers who clearly wanted a school system that offers a choice in where their children attend school.  This is often known as magnet schools in other school systems.
